"The Meyrinkian Slumber" LIMITED MC EDITION (NUMBERED 1-91)
Cassette + Digital Album
Limited MC edition of 91 cassettes. In remembrance of Gustav Meyrink's suicide attempt in the year 1891. The fatal gunshot was stopped at the last second by a mysterious occult flyer that was shoved without a word under the writer's door. Each MC's individual number is printed on the shell. The layout was painstakingly crafted to be a tribute to an old printed version of "Der Golem".
Includes unlimited streaming of The Meyrinkian Slumber
via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

T-Shirt/Apparel
Limited edition of 23 t-shirts only. For Gustav Meyrink, purple was the colour of perfection. The number 23 was chosen in remembrance of his suicide attempt at the age of twenty-three (in the same fashion as the year 1891 reference in the cassette 1-91 edition). The print is charcoal on purple and it is barely visible from the front view. Yet from the side view and under sources of light it suddenly appears and becomes metallic / golden. Both colours can not be actually captured in their true nature through photography. Printed on Gildan Heavy Cotton.

lyrics
A cold rectangle of the moonlight
Descend into the pitch-black realms
Agonising restlessness
A dweller in between the worlds
Not asleep nor awake
In reverie, the rivers collide
The stream incoherent and spastic
A shapeless mass slithering down into the chasm
Unlike the crow of Gautama, the ascetic
I cannot banish the stone from my sight
Unbearable sense of my weakness
Overpowers me and binds me
My body asleep, senses detached
The ever-occurring question
Who am I
Who is this I now
Again and again
With obscene persistence
An obstinate voice keeps insisting
Tireless as a shutter
Blown by the wind against the wall
Like distant recalls
There is no escape from the void
A hundred times I dare to object
A thousand times I deny
I voluntarily give up all resistance
I cast myself into the stream
Of endless interrogations

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire

thanks Fluisteraars! I just love your music. A very good atmosphérique black metal band with experimental/ ambient passage. This album is literally one of my classics in my black metal journey.
The first time I heard this record, I feel scared and no other album make me feel that. Just, I feel like it's probably my favourite black metal album of all time. Continue in that way ! quentin_milcent
